If the water tank of the vehicle is improperly handled during normal driving, it is very prone to "opening the pot". In such cases, the owner's time is delayed, and if it is not handled properly, it may cause a machine damage accident. Today, the editor is here to introduce the daily maintenance of the water tank and the cooling technology of the high temperature water tank, and hope to help the majority of the owners.
High temperature water tank cooling technique
When the car is running, white water vapor suddenly appears in the engine cover, or the water temperature gauge pointer rises rapidly to the high temperature “H” mark position, indicating that the engine temperature is too high. Usually caused by insufficient water in the tank, water leakage or tank fan not running. The processing method is as follows:
Step 1: Immediately find a safe place to park, but do not turn off the fire immediately. Allow the engine to idle at idle speed to continue to dissipate heat while opening the hood to increase heat dissipation.
Note: In case the water temperature is too high or even open:
1. Do not try to continue driving, so as not to cause a large machine damage accident.
2, do not try to open the water tank cover, otherwise there is a possibility that hot liquid spray will cause burns.
3. Do not pour cold water into the engine block or cylinder head. It is very likely that the cylinder will burst due to sudden cooling.
Step 2: After a period of time, check if there is water leaking under the car.
Step 3: Wait until the water temperature gauge pointer drops to the proper temperature position and turn off the engine.
Step 4: Cover the water tank cover with a wet towel and slowly open the first switch (about 1/4 turn). After the water vapor pressure is released, fully open the water tank cover, check the water volume and water quality in the water tank, and the fan belt. Is there an exception? If the amount of water is insufficient, slowly add water to the highest mark.
Note: If the water tank leaks or the fan belt is loose or broken, you can call the company to wait for the trailer to rescue. If necessary, after the engine has completely cooled down, drive the car to the service factory for maintenance at a low speed. Remember, you can't drive at normal speed, otherwise it will cause permanent damage to the engine.
Daily maintenance method
Generally speaking, the antifreeze should be replaced when driving 20,000 kilometers or one year; do not add tap water when there is no antifreeze.
Rusty and fouling of the engine water tank are the most common problems. Rust and scale can limit the flow of antifreeze in the cooling system, reducing heat dissipation, causing the engine to overheat and even cause engine damage. The oxidation of the antifreeze also forms an acidic substance that corrodes the metal parts of the water tank, causing damage and leakage of the water tank. The solution to the tank failure is mainly in routine inspections on weekdays. It should be checked frequently whether there is water leakage or rust in the water tank. It should be cleaned on time, replaced or added with antifreeze to increase boiling point and prolong service life. Generally, antifreeze should be replaced when driving 20,000 kilometers or one year. This can increase the boiling point, prevent scale, rust and enhance the heat dissipation effect, so that the pump can produce lubrication, avoiding and eliminating the engine damage caused by the instantaneous high temperature caused by bubbles.
